Review: Champ Zarma FLYtee
A Tee That’s Too Good
Tees are one of those replaceable accessories in golf. Every so often you need pick up a bag of tees or stock up from the free bucket. But imagine if you would never have to buy a tee again; one pack of Champ Zarma FLYtees may last the rest of your golfing career.
The Champ Zarma FLYtee is a biodegradable plastic pronged tee. It has 6 prongs instead of the 3 or 4 that are found on many other brands. This is a good move by Champ since you never have to worry about the ball falling off the tee between prongs. This is sometimes a complaint against prong tees, how many times a ball falls off them when trying to get them in the ground just perfectly. The FLYtee is much more like a wood tee in terms of stability.

Another issue that prong tees have had over time is the fragile nature of the prongs. The 6 prongs of the FLYtee seemed virtually indestructible. I played a FLYtee for about 10 rounds and the prongs are still like new. I even played in below freezing temperatures for one round. I couldn’t even break one below the prongs either. I’m sure they can be broken, I just haven’t yet.
The only reason I don’t have all of the tees I started with is that I lost a couple. After tee shots these tend to fly around a little. They pop up out of the ground and fly in different directions. Not far but sometimes off the tee box. I had one pop up into the lake next to the tee box. I also lost another 6 FLYtees while playing night Glow-Ball golf. (although, would have lost any tee that night) I’m sure they were on the tee box somewhere, but without lights I wasn’t going to spend all night looking for them.
They come in a variety of colors and lengths. If you get a mixed pack of colors and lengths which is the best of all worlds so you can use a FLYtee for irons, 3-wood and driver. I wouldn’t expect to pick up distance using this or any tee, but you can expect to use the same tee for a long time. Seriously, these might be too good. (I wonder how long before they biodegrade?) You can buy one pack and might never have to buy another pack for years.
