REVIEW: Greg Norman Weatherknit Apparel

Apparel for "Shark" Week
Every year there is a designated “Shark Week” where the focus on the discovery channel is sharks.  If you watch those programs you will see the need for some weather gear.  Who better than the “shark” himself, Greg Norman, to get you dressed for changing weather.  The Greg Norman Collection of Weatherknit apparel is great for a variety of weather situations.  It is apparel perfect for Shark Week.

The Greg Norman Weatherknit apparel that arrived was a long sleeve polo and 1/4 zip rain jacket.  They were put the paces this spring and summer.  I’ve had to play in just about every weather condition possible already this year.  We’ve had cold, sunny, wet, hot, windy, etc conditions and sometimes changing all in one round.  That is the real beauty of the “weatherknit” collection is its ability to adapt.  Its warm yet breathable material make up allows you to  cross over between temperature changes without having to change clothes.

My favorite piece is the 1/4 zip waether jacket.  The very first thing that caught my eye is the style,  the vertical contrasting color patches in my favorite combo looked stunning.  I received many compliments wearing this coat.  It served in both cool weather, windy weather and the rain showers that I played and coached in.  I was really impressed by the waterproof nature of the jacket.  I wore it in a couple downpours and with is zipped all the way I stayed perfectly dry.  While it may not be a Gore-tex coat, it worked as well for me and was really comfortable.

Besides being waterproof, the ability to swing in this jacket was the best of any golf jacket I own.  That to me is one of the biggest issues I have with rain jackets.  They are either too restrictive or too loose, this was just right.  You could easily wear this coat for other application and be super comfortable, even sailing the high seas with sharks.

The long sleeve weatherknit polo is made of a great blend of fabric which has a cotton like feel with dry-fit type performance.  The color is a weather navy that looks really good.  It was great because you could wear it during colder days or warmer days since the sleeves were very easy to push up.  Actually the cuffs were almost too big for my wrists that they felt a little sloppy.  I often wore this polo with a vest for a better look.  I just can’t quite pull off the long sleeve polo look alone.  The M size fit well with a moderate to trim fit.

The “shark” makes great apparel with more than just his logo, but some real tech in the materials and fit.  I’m impressed by the jacket and the polo was good for what it was, just maybe not my style.  In a short sleeve it would be awesome.  It is shark week and Greg Norman apparel is perfect for wearing this week or any week for golf.
